Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC630CHS306 6-Slot Base Unit is made for the GE Series Three PLC system. The Series Three PLC System features a modern design that uses microprocessor technology which in turn offers improved system reliability, high levels of performance and productivity, simplified programming and control, flexible I/O options, and a space-saving blueprint that helps to reduce wiring and operational costs. A standard Series Three PLC system comprises a base unit like the IC630CHS306 Base Unit, a power module on the left side of the base unit, a CPU/programmer, 6 I/O modules, and a terminal block for simplified field wiring. The biggest possible Series Three PLC configuration contains 3 base units (1 primary base unit and 2 secondary base units) that are connected via an expander cable, 24 I/O modules, and a maximum of 400 I/O points.

 

The IC630CHS306 Base Unit features a battery-backed 4K-word CMOS RAM and a 16-bit EEPROM user memory for data storage. The IC630CHS306 Base Unit requires a 115 Volts AC or 230 Volts AC power supply that is installed on the left side of the base unit. This power supply module is jumper-selectable for 115 Volts AC or 230 Volts AC operation and it can supply 5 Volts DC or 12 Volts DC of backplane power to I/O modules that are installed on the base unit. The IC630CHS306 Base Unit has 4 keyholes on each side of the base unit for rack, panel, or wall-mounting, and it has 2 connectors for connecting to the right end of the power module. A CPU/programmer is installed on top of the power supply module for configuring the device, entering function commands, and displaying and editing logic parameters. The IC630CHS306 Base Unit is programmed by using a simple relay ladder logic diagram with support for standard Boolean functions.
