The GE Fanuc IC660CBB903 bus controller is a Series Six PLC bus controller without diagnostics features that is used to interface Series Six PLCs to Genius I/O serial bus devices. It is a Phase B bus controller for the Series Six PLC system. When the IC660CBB903 bus controller is used, it relies on hand-held monitors to generate diagnostic reports from the blocks in the system. It sends diagnostics information concerning its operation and the current bus condition with this monitor. It offers I/O service to all kinds of I/O blocks. It also provides programmed communications between the Series Six PLC system and other devices. The whole PLC system may include a number of buses for communicating with several I/O devices, host computers, and other PLCs. This controller supports buses with baud rates of less than 153.6 kilobaud for standard operation.

 

Additionally, the IC660CBB903 bus controller is required for a bus that has Genius I/O RTD blocks with ratings exceeding 64 output bits or 64 input bits. It provides programmed communication from one central processing unit or CPU to another. The IC660CBB903 bus controller has 2 types of LED lights, including the “COMM OK” LED that is used to display the status of the bus and the “BOARD OK” LED that is used to display the bus controller status. It can be placed in the CPU or a local I/O device that is up to to 24,000 inches (2000 feet) away from the CPU. Each bus controller requires up to 20 units of I/O power. The controller has a port on the front panel for the hand-held monitor to connect to in order to facilitate access to field devices on the bus.
