Genius Bus Controller Phase A without diagnostics Series Six Control IC660C IC660CB IC660CBB
The GE Fanuc IC660CBB901 bus controller is a Series Six Genius bus controller without diagnostics features. It is a Phase A device with a default baud rate setting of 153.6 Kilobaud only. Every device on a bus (including the hand-held monitors and bus controllers) must have a similar baud rate. It has power supply requirements of 5 and 12 Volts, and a rack requirement for the high capacity I/O rack or CPU rack. The bus scan time for the IC660CBB901 bus controller is less than 250 milliseconds. This controller does not detect duplicate device numbers, which means that there will be no device number conflict.
During power-up tests, both LEDs on the IC660CBB901 bus controller will be turned off in case the communication tests fail. When a single bus error is detected within a period of 250 milliseconds, the “COMM OK” LED will turn off. When the IC660CBB901 bus controller fails to turn on the bus, the “COMM OK” LED turns off in that situation too. The controller only supports analog blocks containing 4 input channels or less and it does not support RTD blocks. It offers programmed communication with specific datagrams between the blocks and bus controller only. The IC660CBB901 bus controller has discrete blocks with 8 bits (1 byte) only and analog blocks with 16-bit channel values that are handled as coherent data. When logged in, the block I/O LED turns on and never goes off. However, the device does not send a control data message to inputs-only blocks. The login process is relatively slow because the bus controller must process login messages for every bus scan.
