Genius Bus Controller Phase A CBB900 GE Fanuc Series Six Control IC660C IC660CB IC660CBB
The GE Fanuc IC660CBB900 bus controller is a Genius bus controller with diagnostics features for the Series Six PLC. It is a Phase A device with a standard baud rate of 153.6 Kilobaud and support for 2 links (3 modems). The default setting of the baud rate is 153.6 kilobaud and the baud rate of the bus controller must match the baud rate of other devices on the bus. The baud rate selection is based on the cable type and length and on the Phase A devices used on the bus. The Phase A devices are a group of Genius I/O products that include hand-held monitors, I/O blocks, and Series Six PLC bus controllers that are made to offer intelligent diagnostics and I/O capabilities. The IC660CBB900 bus controller is well-suited for several Genius I/O products.
The GE Fanuc IC660CBB900 bus controller cannot be used for channel selection, and if it is installed in an expanded I/O system, it should be downstream from an I/O transmitter module. The bus controller has a rack requirement with a high-capacity I/O rack or central processing unit (CPU) rack. It also has a bus scan time of less than 250 milliseconds and a power supply requirement of 5 and 12 Volts. During power-up tests, both LEDs on the controller turn off in case the communication test fails. If a single bus error is detected within 250 milliseconds, the “COMM OK” LED switches off. The “COMM OK” LED can also turn off if the IC660CBB900 bus controller misses the switching on the bus. Also, when there are duplicate device numbers, the bus controller is unable to detect the device number conflict.
