The IC600YB949 board is the circuit board of an ASCII/BASIC module from the Series Six line of PLCs made by GE Fanuc Automation. This circuit board enables the users to perform different functions through a basic language interpreter and a user memory with a capacity of 28K that is used for BASIC programs and also through 2 serial I/O ports that are for external communications. This circuit board has been designed to operate alongside a CPU or as a stand-alone microcomputer. The GE Fanuc Automation IC600YB949 circuit board for ASCII/BASIC modules actually consists of 2 different boards that are mounted in a mother-daughter configuration. When used as a stand-alone microcomputer, it needs to be inserted in a single I/O slot in a GE Series Six rack or in a GE Model 60 CPU rack. If this circuit board needs to be in constant communication with a specific CPU, it cannot be mounted in any remote rack but the CPU’s own rack.
