Technical Information

The IC600YB944 module is an ASCII/BASIC module that has been manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation. This module is a microprocessor-based component that works as a language interpreter and it comes with 28 KB of memory that is used with basic programs. This module communicates with other components through a serial I/O port and it has been designed to operate with a GE Series Six CPU or as a microcomputer. Some of the features provided by the GE Fanuc Automation IC600YB944 ASCII/BASIC module are special commands that enable it to be interfaced with different CPUs, up to 16 software interrupts and timer functions, status indicators, and internal time and date stamps. The space requirements for the installation of this module are 1 slot either in a Model 60 CPU rack or a high-capacity I/O rack.

 

The GE Fanuc Automation IC600YB944 ASCII/BASIC module has a power requirement of 5 to 12 Volts DC that needs to be supplied by its rack power supply and it can be installed in an environment with an ambient temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. This module comes with an interpretative extended BASIC language and dual communication ports. The ports that come with the GE Fanuc Automation IC600YB944 ASCII/BASIC module are 2 separate 25-pin serial I/O ports. These ports can be configured by the users to perform specific tasks and these also support RS-232 and RS-422 connections. Both ports are also capable of maintaining independent serial communications with data rates of up to 19.2 KB. The internal time and date stamps of the module facilitate report generation.
