Local I/O Transmitter Module, Enhanced YB940 Without FacePlate GE Series Six IC600 IC600YB

Technical Information

The IC600YB940 transmitter module is an enhanced local I/O transmitter module that has been designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc. The purpose of the IC600YB940 local I/O transmitter module is to act as an interface device between the I/O rack that it is installed in and the and an I/O rack that is located downstream of it. This downstream I/O rack can be located up to 500 feet or 150 meters away. The IC600YB940 enhanced local transmitter module is a GE Series Six transmitter module that is made to be installed in the GE Series Six PLC systems. This transmitter module is located near the circuit board that comes with a DC-to-DC converter. This DC-to-DC converter is made to provide 5 Volts DC supply voltage to the circuits on the I/O Bus.

Because of the voltage from the converter near the GE Fanuc Series Six IC600YB940 enhanced local I/O transmitter module, the I/O stations that are located downstream from the transmitter module are electrically isolated both from the I/O stations that are located upstream from the transmitter module and from the system CPU. The IC600YB940 enhanced transmitter module has jumper-selectable operation, which means that the operators can use a jumper to select whether the transmitter module will operate in the NORMAL I/O mode or in the EXPANDED I/O mode. In the NORMAL I/O mode, the module can handle 1 I/O chain per CPU. The NORMAL I/O mode is also the default operating mode. In the EXPANDED I/O mode, the IC600YB940 transmitter module can handle up to 8 I/O chains per CPU (or up to 16 I/O chains per CPU counting the AUX chains).
