IC600YB914 is a GE Fanuc output Reed relay module used in either an Input or Output rack or a model 60 CPU. It weighs 3 lbs. (2 kgs) and is designed to deliver an electrically isolated and compact contact surface between power supplies and discrete loads. The Reed module comprises 6 FORM C, mercury wetted trays. Each output circuit comes with an LED to indicate the status of the circuit coil, i.e. whether it is energized or not. The series 6 CPU is responsible for updating all the six outputs during an Input / Output scan.  A user can select the de-energized state of each relay using a jumper; either normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC). Moreover, the user has the option of excluding the RC protection unit provided for each output.

Before installation of the Reed module on the input / Output rack or model 60 CPU, it’s prudent to first check if the module’s factory configuration is suitable for the operation. The factory configuration is inclusive of normally open contacts as well as RC protection circuits for each of the 6 output circuits. Ensure to also establish the correct correspondence between output terminals on the module and a panel of six consecutive numbers in the user program. Take note that the Reed relay module should be installed in a vertical position – right side up. Otherwise, the module will not function as expected.
