GE Fanuc designs and builds several types of discrete output modules that enable the GE Model 60 CPUs and the GE Series 6 Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to control the activation and deactivation of different devices, and one of these solid-state output modules is the GE Fanuc IC600YB907 12 Volts DC source output module which enables the PLC to have 8 independent, customizable output points that are able to command external devices according to the desired control algorithm. The GE Fanuc IC600YB907 12 Volts DC source output module provides a positive terminal connection point to the field devices connected into it and the ground terminal point needed for completing the circuit should be provided by the end user's circuitry.

 

The GE Fanuc IC600YB907 12 Volts DC source output module terminal points are divided into 2 groups of 4 output points each, with common positive power terminal connections and neutral terminal connections. The power source for the module is the same one that is used for the PLC or the Model 60 CPU, which delivers 5 Volts DC with a maximum current rating of 400 milliamps. The steady-state current of the GE Fanuc IC600YB907 12 Volts DC source output module is approximately 2 Amps, with a maximum inrush current of 7 Amps. An important thing to take into account when installing this module is the proper adjustment of the dip switches in the slot that will house the module in the I/O rack. If these switches are not adjusted appropriately, the program in the PLC will not recognize which output points it will need to use for each external field device.
