The analog input module with the product code IC600YB842 is designed for the -10 to +10 Volts voltage range. This Series Six analog input module is produced by GE Fanuc and this input module version is a bipolar type of input module. Besides bipolar modules, the GE Series Six product line provides 2 other module versions that are unipolar and current modules. The module has lots of advantages in comparison to similar components from other manufacturers and it operates in the analog-to-digital converter mode for signal processing applications. The value of the input level of the IC600YB842 module provides a 12-bit binary number and it is directed to the CPU’s input status table.

 

The IC600YB842 module provides 8 input channels in total and this results in a very efficient use of the space available on the I/O rack. The module has differential input and optically-coupled data paths that include additional electrical isolation between the devices. The IC600YB842 module is used for a variety of applications and it supports both sequential and repetitive access to channels. The module features a storage temperature range of -20 to 80 degrees Celsius (-4 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit) and a working temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). The IC600YB842 module includes LED lights for various warnings if an error occurs. The module is a rack-installed component and it needs adequate DIP-switch positioning. The module requires a rack power supply of 5 Volts DC with a current rating of 1.5 Amps. The analog input voltage or current levels must be supplied by a reliable power supply for proper operation.
