Technical Information

The IC600YB827 High-Speed Counter Module is an intelligent I/O module designed by GE Fanuc. It can be installed in any I/O slot in a Model 60 CPU or I/O rack. If the frequency of the incoming pulses is too high to be detected by the CPU, this module can be used in a range of position control or velocity measurement applications. The IC600YB827 High-Speed Counter Module is a microprocessor-based counter module that can efficiently receive pulses from encoders and digital tachometers. This device is capable of providing high-speed pulse input, controlling multiple field devices, and maintaining an accurate position count to control the connected loads and devices.            

 

The IC600YB827 High-Speed Counter Module can perform the counting even if the CPU fails. It also comes with built-in diagnostic facilities, indicators, and CPU status information. It contains an 8-bit counter and it is used to maintain a 24-bit accumulate register. The counting range of the module is -8,3888,608 to +8,388,607. The users are provided with the facilities to set the upper and lower counting limits within this range. It also has 4 outputs which are open collector transistors that can provide TTL compatible levels. The IC600YB827 High-Speed Counter Module consists of 8 programmable internal preset registers. The users can establish the communication between the counter module and the CPU via 32 consecutive input and output bits. It can accept pulse rates of 50 kilohertz per channel and store accumulated counts as a 24-bit 2’s complement format. It also can calculate the number of counts that occur during a user-defined time period.
