The IC600YB818 Thermocouple Input Module is a TypeE compact T/C input module that belongs to the GE Fanuc Series Six PLC product line. It comes with 8 inputs for detecting the thermocouple’s low-level analog signals. The IC600YB818 Thermocouple Input Module comes with high levels of conversion accuracy and easy operation. The power supply of the I/O rack provides the required level of power to the module. It requires 5 Volts DC of voltage and a maximum of 1.7 Amps of current. The input requirement of this Type E module is -8.824 to 76.358 MV and module accuracy is 3 degrees Celsius at a temperature range of -200 to 1000 degrees Celsius. It uses 4 consecutive input address bytes to transfer the data that is processed inside the module to the controller.

 

The IC600YB818 Thermocouple Input Module comes with 2 thermocouple conditioners which have 4 channels each for low-level input signal conditioning. This module transfers temperature data in a sign-magnitude format to the Series Six CPU. It can be installed in a Model 60 CPU rack. During installation, make sure that the DIP switches are set behind the card slot on the rack backplane. For short-distance wiring, the shielded wires are not required. The IC600YB818 Thermocouple Input Module scans the analog inputs and then converts the signals into a specific data type which is used by the controller. A 4-digit voltage meter, a voltage source with 1 millivolt of resolution, and a GE IC600MA508A Calibration Connector are essential equipment for performing the manual calibration of the device properly. It is used in a variety of applications like annealing furnaces and injection molding applications.
