Type B Thermocouple Input Module (8 points) YB817 Module Without Face Plate IC600 IC600YB

Technical Information

The IC600YB817 Thermocouple Input Module is a Type B microprocessor-based input module manufactured by GE Fanuc. It comes with 8 electrically isolated inputs that can detect the signals which come from thermocouple devices. It is designed in a way that simplifies troubleshooting. The IC600YB817 Thermocouple Input Module senses lower level analog input values from the thermocouple module and converts them to compatible values for use with the GE Series Six PLCs. The calibration of the module must be done every 6 months to meet the accuracy and efficiency requirements of the system. Some of the features of the input signal conditioning of this module include isolation, filtering, and low-level input signal conditioning.

The IC600YB817 Thermocouple Input Module uses the 2’s complement format to transfer the temperature data to the GE Series Six CPU. This Type B input requires 2.782 to 13.814 MV. The module accuracy rating is 3 degrees Celsius within its thermocouple temperature range 750 to 1820 degrees Celsius. The 5 Volts DC of voltage and 1.7 Amps of current that are required to power the module are provided by the I/O rack power supply. The IC600YB817 Thermocouple Input Module must be installed in a Model 60 CPU rack or I/O rack. It is recommended to install the dual in-line package switches in the back card slot of the rack backplane. Before wiring the module, make sure to follow ANSI standard color codes and thermocouple polarities. During calibrations, the offset potentiometer must be adjusted to obtain the 0 Volts reading, and the gain potentiometer must be calibrated to obtain the 4 Volts reading on the voltmeter.
