Expansion Rack I/O Cable, 50 feet (15m) WD050 Series Six PLC Module GE IC600W IC600WD

Technical Information

The IC600WD050 cable is a GE Fanuc Series Six I/O cable. The cable is shielded at purchase and it comes with 16 color-coded twisted-pair wires and 2 connectors; one with male terminals that connect to the upstream module (toward the CPU) and another one with female terminals that connect to the downstream module (away from the CPU). Note that all of the connectors should be secured with the furnished screws. The shell on one of the connectors can be temporarily removed by loosening its screws to easily slide that end of the cable through a conduit section. The IC600WD050 cable extends from rack to rack within a local, Central Processor Unit (CPU) or remote station for providing electrical continuity for the parallel I/O Bus. The cable can also connect a local station to a CPU station or to another local station.

Five specific modules use the IC600WD050 cable and they are the I/O receiver module, the auxiliary I/O module, the downstream port of the Remote I/O receiver module, the I/O control module, and the I/O transmitter module. When using the IC600WD050 cable to interconnect parts of the Series Six I/O system, the users should be aware of the following constraints: the parallel I/O bus between the farthest local I/O station and the CPU rack should interface through a maximum of 4 I/O transmitter modules, the maximum cable length for the cable connecting the racks within an I/O station (the party-line bus) without transmitters should be 50 feet (15.2 meters), and the maximum cable length between a local I/O station and the CPU station or another local station with transmitters should be 500 feet (152.4 meters).
