Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC600PM546 Central Processing Unit (CPU) Power Supply Module is a 125 Volts DC rated power supply module that is used in the GE Series Six CPU rack. The IC600PM546 CPU Power Supply Module is designed for a 100 Volts DC or 150 Volts DC rated power source, and it supplies -12 Volts DC, +5 Volts DC, and +12 Volts DC power to the CPU rack backplane. It also provides power to the optional auxiliary backup battery that provides power backup for the metal-oxide-semiconductor memory on the CPU in the event of an abrupt power failure. As a standard feature, this power supply module comes with a built-in line fuse, a switch, and DC input polarity reversal protection, and it also features electromechanical relay contacts for connection to any user-supplied devices or indicators that can be activated during an alarm condition.

 

The IC600PM546 CPU Power Supply Module has a front panel connector block consisting of DC input terminals, auxiliary battery terminals, and alarm relay contacts. The DC input terminals receive source voltage and then route this input voltage through a built-in filter on the module, a switch, and an internal 2 Amps fuse before sending it to the switching power supply. The IC600PM546 CPU Power Supply Module has an operating voltage range of 100 to 150 Volts DC, and it provides 15.5 Amps, 2 Amps, 1.5 Amps, and 1 Amp of possible backplane currents. It has 2 front-mounted key switches that are used for selecting either the “RUN” or “HOLD” modes of the processor unit, and for setting the “READ ONLY” mode in the processor memory. The IC600PM546 CPU Power Supply Module is mounted on the CPU rack, and it has a rear-side 18-pin connector for connecting signal cables to the backplane.
