Technical Information

The IC600LX616 memory module is a GE Fanuc manufactured memory module with 8K of logic and 8K of registers. The memory module comprises a central processing unit with a memory configuration that includes registers and logical user memory. The logic memory of the module stores the user program that includes the ladder diagram and the program instructions. The register module of the memory stores 1K of user-defined words in the 8K version. The IC600LX616 memory module uses battery-backed CMOS RAM as a backup memory for its storage devices. It is activated when there is a power failure. This battery is located on the main circuit board along with the circuitry that is needed to monitor the voltage level of the battery. The memory module is easy to install and replace. The environment should be clean and the temperature should be set between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius for normal operation.

 

The front section of the IC600LX616 memory module is equipped with 2 LED indicators that are visible through a clear protective housing. The “battery” LED indicator shows if there is enough charge in the battery to save the memory contents, and the “parity” LED indicator informs the users if there are parity errors. Parity errors are generally found in the logic memory. The IC600LX616 memory module is installed in the leftmost slot of the ACM in the memory module. It can be mounted to the slot by using screws at the top and bottom. The mains should be fully disconnected during installation to avoid electrical hazards. The parity errors detected at the startup should be cleared up before operation.
