The IC600CM554 4K Combined Memory Module is part of the GE Fanuc Series 6 Programmable Logic Controller system, which is a system of the first modular PLCs that were ever produced and released. The modular design of these PLCs was adopted for other PLCs because it offers a scalable platform that is easy to troubleshoot by changing individual modules or cards in it such as the IC600CM554 4K Combined Memory Module. Installing this GE Fanuc memory module is very simple. Disconnect the PLC from the power source, insert the card into an available slot in the CPU, make sure the connections are steady, and power the PLC back up. The IC600CM554 4K Combined Memory Module is able to maintain the data stored in its memory during a power outage, because the data is protected by a lithium-manganese backup battery, and the status can be easily monitored with the built-in status LED that lets the users know of the battery is low and needs to be replaced.

 

The GE Fanuc IC600CM554 4K Combined Memory Module provides all the necessary memory configurations for the central processing unit or CPU of the PLC, including the user program files that are commonly called the "logic section" files, register section, and the internal memory section configurations. The GE Fanuc IC600CM554 4K Combined Memory Module should only be installed by properly trained electrical or electronic technicians because the incorrect installation of the board may lead to device malfunctioning, user injuries, and electrical arcs that may cause fires and other damage to the users’ machines. Hot swap operation is not allowed, because the problems mentioned above can occur if a hot swap is attempted.
