Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC600CM548 logic memory is an 8K CMOS logic memory module designed for use in GE Model 600 or 6000 CPUs. It is a product of GE Fanuc Automation and it is a member of the GE Series Six PLC product line. This module features the GE Series Six Plus CPU memory configuration that includes an internal user (logic) memory as well as the register memory. It also comes with a parity memory for each of the 6 types of memory. The combined memory modules contain the entire GE Series Six Plus CPU memory configuration, including the internal, register, and user (logic) memory. Also included is parity memory for each of the memory types. The IC600CM548 logic memory features the user program and comprises ladder diagram logic as well as mnemonic instructions. These modules contain various capacities.

 

The register memory has storage capacity of 1K of user-defined memory, and its internal memory has data stored in the scratchpad and table formats. The IC600CM548 combined memory module has CMOS-RAM that it uses for storage purposes. When the power is removed, the devices maintain the memory contents by the use of a lithium-manganese dioxide battery. The battery is found on the circuit board with a circuit that is used to monitor the level of battery voltage. It also has 2 LED indicators which can be seen through the clear plastic window on the faceplate of the module. The “BATTERY” LED is also available to indicate the status of the on-board lithium battery and whether it has sufficient charge to maintain the content of the memory. The other LED indicator is marked as the “PARITY” LED and it indicates when there are no parity errors in the IC600CM548 logic memory module.
