Technical Information

The IC600CM542 memory module is a CMOS logic memory module made by GE Fanuc Automation. It is manufactured as a member of the GE Series Six product line. The GE Series Six Plus memory modules feature a CPU memory setting with an internal memory, register memory, and user or logic memory. It features a parity memory that is dedicated to every individual type of memory. The IC600CM542 combined memory module comes with a wide range of benefits that makes it unique. Additionally, the module has a logic memory that has a user program with ladder diagram logic and mnemonic instructions. The other interesting feature is the register memory that stores 1000 words of memory. The internal memory of this CMOS logic memory module contains data that is saved in the format of a scratchpad or table.

 

The GE Fanuc IC600CM542 combined memory module has a CMOS-RAM that is intended for use as a storage device. When the power is removed, the contents of the CMOS-RAM are backed up by the battery which is placed on the circuit board and which has a circuit for monitoring the battery voltage level. This memory module has 2 LEDs, which are visible through the clear plastic window in the faceplate. The IC600CM542 memory module comes with an LED labeled “BATTERY,” which indicates whether the on-board battery has enough charge to preserve the memory contents. There is also the “PARITY” LED that is used to indicate whether there are any parity errors in the logic memory access, internal memory access, or register memory access.
