Comm Control Type 2 Module CB516 GE Fanuc Series Six Module Board PLCIC600C IC600CB
The GE Fanuc IC600CB516 control module is a Type 2 communication control module. GE Fanuc Automation manufactures this module as a member of the GE Series Six product line. This unit is used in the GE Series Six CPUs to provide an interface between the Central Processing Unit (CPU) and the basic I/O chain because it helps to control the data transfer between the CPU and other peripheral devices, including the DPU and PDT devices. The IC600CB516 control module has 4 LED indicators marked “DPU,” “PARITY,” “CHAIN OK,” and “ENABLED” which are designed to simplify troubleshooting. These LED indicators can be seen through the clear plastic window on the faceplate and they are used to indicate the continuity conditions, the I/O chain parity, the status of the I/O, and whether the module is enabled or not. The other LED is used to show whether there is any problem with the DPU interface. These LED indicators are designed to operate only when the module is installed correctly and powered by the power source in the CPU rack.
The GE Fanuc IC600CB516 control module also features 37-pin D-type connectors that are available for making the module’s cable connections. There is one that is marked “input/output” that can be used to link with the input and output receiver modules that are up to 50 feet away. The PP/DPU connector can be used for connecting a cable from the PDT or the DPU. When using the IC600CB516 control module, the operators can choose to use a jumper when the CPU is in the “STOP” mode if there is data processor window failure or a communication window failure. Failure to select these options causes the CPU to close the DPU window or the CCM window in case of a window failure.
