Technical Information

The IC600CB504 module is an internal memory module that has been designed by GE Fanuc Automation. This internal memory module can be installed in different CPU racks, including the GE Model 600 and 6000 CPUs. Internal memory modules like this one are used to enlarge the memory capacity of CPUs so that they can provide multiple new functionalities. Before installing this internal memory module in a rack, the DIP switches need to be set and programmed in a way that indicates the total amount of logic memory that is in that rack. The GE Fanuc Automation IC600CB504 internal memory module is meant to be installed in a rack where there are certain limitations about the slot and the memory that it can hold. For example, no more than 8K of memory can be assigned to the Logic Memory Slots D, C, B, or A in the rack.

 

The GE Fanuc Automation IC600CB504 internal memory module consists of the circuit board only. It needs to be paired with its compatible faceplate so that it can operate safely and efficiently. Once the DIP switches have been properly set, the GE Fanuc Automation IC600CB504 internal memory module can be inserted into the rack that will host it. For this insertion, the top board cover needs to be removed with plastic fasteners and the 2-pin lithium battery needs to be connected. This circuit board is inserted until the fasteners open and catch, which lets the technicians know that it is secured. The extraction and insertion tool that comes with the CPU can be used to perform this installation process easily.
