Technical Information

The IC600BF949 module is an ASCII/BASIC module that has been manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation. This module is based on microprocessor technology and it contains a language interpreter. The module also comes with memory that is available to use the BASIC language programs and 2 ports that enable it to be connected to external equipment. The RAM available in this module has a capacity of 12 KB and there are 32 KB of EPROM memory available that comes with an operating system incorporated. The GE Fanuc Automation IC600BF949 ASCII/BASIC module can transfer information to a specific CPU from the GE Series Six CPU. It can also read the registers, scratch pads, and I/O tables in all this equipment.

 

The GE Fanuc Automation IC600BF949 ASCII/BASIC module has 2 boards that are configured in a motherboard-daughterboard configuration. It can be used both as a microcomputer and when inserted in a single I/O slot in a rack from the same series. The GE Fanuc Automation IC600BF949 ASCII/BASIC module provides GE BASIC language, full function floating-point math, dual communication ports, and interrupts and timer features. This module requires only 1 slot for installation. It also requires a power supply of 5 to 12 Volts DC and the cables used must not exceed 15 meters and 1.2 kilometers in length for the RS-232C and RS-422 ports, respectively. It is recommended that these cables have overall shielding and a diameter of 24 AWG minimum. The cables can be used in a twisted pair or shielded twisted pair modality for shorter distances.
