Technical Information

The IC600BF901 I/O module is a remote I/O module manufactured by GE. This module is used as a communication interface between local and remote I/O locations. It is commonly used in the industrial sector. The module is equipped with a J3 connector that is used as a communication interface cable connector and a J4 connector that is used to link with other I/O racks in remote I/O stations. The front plate of the IC600BF901 I/O module has LED indicators for the link, local connection, remote connection, and remote parity features.  The “Local OK” LED indicates that the remote I/O receiver module is working properly. When it is off, it means that a communication failure may occur due to a timeout or transmission errors. This remote module comes with a set of jumpers that contains the factory set functions, the odd/even/parity set functions, and other functions as well. The “hold last state” and “remote parity error” functions are available with the remote modules.

 

During the initialization of the IC600BF901 I/O module, it checks for parity errors. The LED indicator illuminates when there is no parity error in the remote I/O system. During the installation of the IC600BF901 I/O module, the factory set conditions should be checked to determine if the module is suitable for the application that it is intended for. By default, the module comes with a block size of 120 I/O. The IC600BF901 I/O module is also equipped with 8 blocks of 240 I/O references that the users can select from. For communication, it uses the twisted pair cable type for a communication distance of up to 3 kilometers. The maximum temperature of the module’s environment should not exceed 60 degrees Celsius.
