Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC600BF827 high-speed counter module is an intelligent, microprocessor-based I/O module that is designed to provide speed and velocity measurement solutions to a wide variety of industrial applications where the frequency of the incoming pulses would otherwise overwhelm the GE Series Six CPU. This module belongs to the GE Series Six I/O module family, and it is made to be installed on the GE Series Six I/O rack or the Series 60 CPU rack. Standard features on the IC600BF827 high-speed counter module include the ability to receive a variety of counting inputs such as the digital tachometer, quadrature encoder, transistor/photo switch, and mechanical switch input levels and the module is jumper-configurable to accept TTL differential, TTL single-ended, or 10 to 30 Volts DC signals levels.

 

The IC600BF827 high-speed counter module has 1.2 Amps of power requirements at 5 Volts DC that is supplied by the I/O rack power supply. The IC600BF827 high-speed counter module supports a maximum of 12 software presets in its registry, 4 of which control the 4 real-time external outputs, and the remaining 8 of which are internal presets that are for CPU use. The IC600BF827 high-speed counter module has built-in diagnostics features such as LED indicators and CPU status reporting, and it is designed to continue operation even in the event the CPU goes offline or fails. The IC600BF827 high-speed counter module has a 36-point connector on the front panel of the module for all the external wiring to the module, and it also has DIP switches on the front panel for setting the filters and configurations. The IC600BF827 high-speed counter module has 4 LED indicators labelled “OUT 1,” “OUT 2,” “OK,” and “Count” for indicating the energized status of Outputs 1 and 2, and for indicating when pulses are received.
