The GE Fanuc IC600BF816 thermocouple input module is a Type T thermocouple input module that receives low-level analog signal inputs developed by thermocouple devices. The IC600BF816 thermocouple input module belongs to the GE Series Six thermocouple series, which contains modules that are available in 7 different versions (Type S, Type J, Type T, Type B, Type K+ Type E, and Type R). The IC600BF816 thermocouple input module, like most GE Series Six modules, comes with built-in diagnostics and troubleshooting capabilities, and it is suitable for applications such as injection molding, annealing furnaces, and chemical processing applications. The IC600BF816 thermocouple input module has 8 electrically-isolated input circuits that receive low-level analog signals from input devices and then convert them to either degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit temperature data. 

 

The IC600BF816 thermocouple input module has two 4-channel thermocouple conditioners that can be configured for use with any thermocouple types, and an onboard microprocessor that contains a 13-bit analog to digital converter and a programmable gain amplifier. After the inputs receive analog signals from the field devices, the A/D converter on the processor board converts these input signals into temperature data that is then sent to the input status table of the Series Six CPU in either the 2’s complement or sign-magnitude formats. The IC600BF816 thermocouple input module does not have built-in CJCs, but external CJCs can be connected to each input circuit to compensate for the loss of thermoelectric voltage due to temperature sensitivity at the terminals. The IC600BF816 thermocouple input module gets its power requirement from I/O rack power supply. It is installed on the Series Six I/O rack, and it comes with several DIP switches for configuring various module functions.
