The IC610MDL110 counter module is a high speed counter module from the GE family. This counter module gives access to a Series One PC to monitor and control different industrial process variables including flow rate, velocity, and position. This module helps to overcome the timing constraints of the CPU in the system. The counter module is equipped with 7 inputs. A logical relationship is present between the counters and the preset. The module can be easily installed in the first 4 I/O slots that are adjacent to the CPU and it allows 8 I/O and 2 counter references to interface using the user logic. The IC610MDL110 counter module is powered with a supply voltage of 12 Volts DC. The module supports Increment counts, decrement counts, and reset/marker functions. The reaction time is less than 100 microseconds between the received pulse and the output transition.
The IC610MDL110 counter module is equipped with a 32-pin connector on the front that is used to connect with field devices like bi-directional incremental encoders and 4-digit BCD counter. The incremental encoder in the module controls the counter by using the up/down and reset inputs. The encoder should also represent the clockwise and counter movements in the shaft with 2 pulse trains for increments and decrements. The operating temperature range for the IC610MDL110 counter module should be set between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius with non-condensing ambient humidity. The module consumes a total of 70 milliamps of current with 9 Volts DC of voltage from an internal power supply. LED indicators are present on the face plate to show the on or off state of the inputs and outputs.
