GE Power Supply, 12 Amp, 115/230Vac PWR501 Series Five Power IC655PWR5 IC655PWR50
The IC655PWR501 Power Supply Module is manufactured by GE Fanuc for the GE Series Five PLCs. It supplies the required operating voltage and current to the base units of the PLC. The IC655PWR501 Power Supply Module can be installed in the leftmost slot on the base unit. The input voltage rating of the device is 115/230 Volts AC and the current rating is 12 Amps. The input voltage is selected by configuring the jumper which can be found on the terminal block on the front of the power supply module. The terminal block of the module is located at the lower right of the power supply module. The terminal block can also be used for making field wiring connections and it comes with a snap-on plastic terminal cover for the safety of the users.
The IC655PWR501 Power Supply Module provides 5 Volts DC of regulated voltage to the backplane of the base unit for supplying power to the modules which are installed in the base units. The IC655PWR501 Power Supply Module has an indicator LED which is known as the “PWR” LED to indicate the status of the power supply which is located at the top right corner of the module. The terminal block with 8 terminals can be used for RUN relay connections, power source connections, power source selections, and ground connections. The first 2 terminals that have the RUN label on them are connected internally to normally-open contacts that close when the CPU is switched to the RUN mode. The third and fourth terminals have internal connections to the signal ground and chassis ground, respectively. The next 2 terminals are used to connect the power source and the last 2 terminals are used for power source selection.
