Rack Power Supply, 6 Amp 115/230Vac PWR500 Series Five Power IC655PWR5 IC655PWR50
The IC655PWR500 Power Supply belongs to the Series Five product line made by GE Fanuc. It provides the operating voltage and current for the CPU base unit or I/O expansion base unit in a PLC. It comes with 115 Volts AC or 230 Volts AC of jumper-selectable input voltage and 6 Amps of rated current. It has a 2 Amps and 250 Volts rated normal blow fuse. The IC655PWR500 Power Supply supplies 5.1 Volts of output voltage and 0.1 Amps to 6 Amps of output current. The bottom of the module consists of 8 terminals for providing user connections to the power supply that are the RUN relay, signal ground, and chassis ground connection, and the AC power source connections.
The IC655PWR500 Power Supply must be installed in the leftmost slot on a base unit. It has an indicator LED at the top right corner which visually indicates whether the power is applied to the module or whether 5 Volts of output voltage is available to supply. If the output voltage is not at the recommended level, the LED will turn off. The bottom 2 terminals must be connected with the jumper to select the 115 Volts AC power source but they do not need to be connected to use the 230 Volts AC power source. The IC655PWR500 Power Supply can be easily removed from the system by loosening the 2 captive screw fasteners. It is essential to turn off the AC power supply and disconnect the field wiring from the terminal block before removing the power supply unit. It comes with a plastic terminal cover that protects the users from the hazardous voltages that can occur on the terminals.
