GE 12-24Vdc Output, Positive Logic 32 points GE Series Five Module IC655MDL5 IC655MDL55
The GE Fanuc IC655MDL556 module is a 24 Volts DC positive output logic module with 32 output circuits. The output switching capacity of the module is 0.5 Amps. The type of output circuits on the IC655MDL556 module is an NPN emitter follower. The outputs are internally grouped into 4 groups with 8 circuits per group. The operating voltage range is 5 to 26.4 Volts DC with a peak voltage of up to 40 Volts DC. The ratings for the maximum current per module, per common, and per output circuit are 8 Amps, 2 Amps, and 0.5 Amps respectively. The operating current values and the number of active circuits are highly dependent on the ambient temperature: 16 active circuits can carry 0.5 Amps of current and 32 active circuits can carry 0.25 Amps in a temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius.
However, at 50 to 60 degrees Celsius, the number of active circuits on the IC655MDL556 module carrying 0.5 Amps of current is reduced to 12 and the number of active circuits carrying 0.25 Amps of current is reduced to 24. At 5 Volts DC, the typical internal power consumption rating is 600 milliamps and it can reach a maximum of 800 milliamps. The current consumption per active output point is 20 milliamps. The load on the output circuits should be equal to or greater than 0.2 milliamps at 5 Volts DC. The leakage current can reach a maximum value of 0.1 milliamps at 40 Volts DC. A separate LED is provided on the module for each of the 32 output circuits. The top 16 LEDs can also be used to display the starting I/O address of the IC655MDL556 module.
