Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC655MDL552 I/O module is a negative output logic I/O module. The output circuits are rated for 24 Volts DCof voltage and 0.5 Amps of current. A total of 32 NPN open collector type circuits are provided on the module. Inside the IC655MDL552 I/O module, the 32 circuits are split into 4 groups. Each group has its own common connection on the removal terminal block on which the field wiring from the user loads is terminated. The 32 output circuits can be used for controlling user output loads. Each of the 4 groups can draw power from a single source or from independent sources. The module is designed so that the users need to provide the 24 Volts DC power supply for the load and output circuits.

 

A fuse rated at 3 Amps is provided on the module for the protection of each group of circuits. The range of voltages supported by the circuits on the IC655MDL552 I/O module is 4.5 to 26.4 Volts DC and the peak voltage supported is 40 Volts DC. The peak operating current ratings per IC655MDL552 module, per common, and per output circuit are 8 Amps, 2 Amps, and 0.5 Amps, respectively. A total of 16 circuits can be active with 0.5 Amps of current per circuit at a temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and 32 circuits can be active with 0.25 Amps of current per circuit at a temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The IC655MDL552 module draws 8 milliamps of current per active output circuit. The total current consumption rating for the module can reach a maximum value of 300 milliamps whereas the typical consumption rating is 260 milliamps.
