GE 12-24Vac/dc Input, Positive Logic 32 points Series Five Module IC655MDL5 IC655MDL51
The GE Fanuc IC655MDL512 module, which is a 24 Volts AC/DC positive input logic module, provides 32 input circuits for interfacing with user input devices. The IC655MDL512 module is a highly temperature-dependent module. At 50 degrees Celsius, all 32 of the circuits can be in the on state, but at 60 degrees Celsius, only 24 of the input circuits can be in the on state. The 32 LEDs located on the front of the IC655MDL512 module provide a visual indication of the operational state of the input circuits. Additionally, through programming, the LEDs can also be used to display the starting address of the I/O module. A removable terminal block installed on the front of the module, is where the wires from the user input devices are terminated.
Internally, the input circuits on the IC655MDL512 module are divided into 4 groups with 8 circuits per group. The range of operating voltage for the IC655MDL512 module is 10.2 to 26.4 Volts AC or DC. The input current per input circuit is 10 milliamps at 24 Volts AC or DC. The circuit “on” level is 10 Volts AC or DC and the circuit “off” level is 3 Volts AC or DC. The voltages are measured between the input terminal and the single common connection for each group, which is labeled “C.” The current drawn by the IC655MDL512 module per point that is powered on is 5 milliamps. The typical total current draw is 160 milliamps, which can reach a maximum of 180 milliamps. The approximate weight of the IC655MDL512 I/O module is 750 grams.
