GE 24-Vdc Input Positive/Negative Logic 64 pts GE Series Five Module IC655MD IC655MDL50

Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC655MDL503 input module is a 24 Volts DC, positive/negative logic, input module. The shipping weight of the module is approximately 600 grams. The operating temperature range for the IC655MDL503 module is from 10 to 60 degrees Celsius. Only 32 circuits can be operational at 60 degrees Celsius, while 64 circuits can be operational at up to 50 degrees Celsius. At 5 Volts DC, the IC655MDL503 module draws 50.1 milliamps of current per operating input circuit and an additional l2.5 milliamps for each LED which is in the on state. The typical value of the combined current draw of the IC655MDL503 module is 136 milliamps. The 64 input circuits on the IC655MDL503 module are internally arranged into 4 groups of 16 circuits per group.

The specifications for the input circuits on the IC655MDL503 module include a 20 to 28 Volts DC operating range, 5 milliamps of operating current at 24 Volts DC, a circuit “on” level of 19 Volts DC, and circuit “off” level of 10 Volts DC, a peak leakage current of 1.6 milliamps, and a minimum “on” current of 3.5 Amps. The specifications for both the on to off and off to on response times are 2 to 10 milliseconds. The field wiring terminates on two 37-pin subminiature D-type connectors located on the front of the IC655MDL503 module. These connectors are labeled J1 and J2, respectively. A toggle switch located above the J1 connector allows for the selection of 32 inputs which can be monitored through the 32 LEDs on the IC655MDL503 module. Depending on how the source voltage is connected to the module, the input circuits can operate as either positive or negative logic.
