Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC655MDL501 input module is an input module which is designed for use with GE Series Five programmable controllers. The input circuits on the IC655MDL501 input module are negative logic circuits which are rated for 24 Volts DC, that have a 12 to 24 Volts DC operating range, and that support 7 milliamps of current at 12 Volts DC and 15 milliamps of current at 24 Volts DC. The number of circuits available on the IC655MDL501 input module is 16, and these circuits are divided into two 8-circuit groups, and 16 LEDs are also provided to display the on or off status of the circuits. Through programming, the LEDs can also be used to display the starting I/O address of the IC655MDL501 input module. The weight of the IC655MDL501 input module is 650 grams and the operating temperature range for the module is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius.

 

The maximum open circuit voltage for the circuits on the IC655MDL501 input module is 26.4 Volts DC. When measured between the input terminal and the group common, the on level for the circuits is 10 Volts DC and the off level is 5.5 Volts DC. The minimum level of on-state current for the circuits is 5.5 milliamps and the maximum level of off-state current for the circuits is 3 milliamps. The off to on and on to off response times for the circuits on the IC655MDL501 module are 3 to 10 milliseconds and 3 to 12 milliseconds, respectively. With a current draw of 4 milliamps per point that is powered on, the typical amount of current drawn by the IC655MDL501 input module is 64 milliamps which can go up to a peak value of 80 milliamps.
