Technical Information

The IC655CHS590 plug is a I/O termination plug for the CHS590 rack PLC manufactured by GE Fanuc. It is part of the GE Series Five logic controller series. It is small in size and it is manufactured to be compact. The Series Five PLC is made to meet the demands of different applications within the same I/O range. The termination plug helps to end a transmission quickly when necessary. The PLC system consists of different components. The IC655CHS590 plug is used on the base unit of the PLC in the local I/O chain. The plug is always required in the PLC system regardless of the base unit that is used. The Series Five PLC system has a modular system and it allows for the easy configuration of the hardware. It supports a wide variety of memory options. It comes with a built-in CCM port to connect directly with the programmer terminal for communication. It offers faster monitoring of the data points at random. An internal battery is present in the PLC that is used for the real-time clock/calendar that can be accessed by the operator. 

 

The operating temperature for the GE IC655CHS590 I/O termination plug and the host PLC should not exceed 60 degrees Celsius for regular operation. The installation of the IC655CHS590 plug is easy. It is made to be mounted on the unused base unit connector on the last base unit of the I/O chain. The installation process should be done carefully to avoid unreliable operation due to the plug not being properly installed and not fully plugging the unused connector. The termination plug needs to be tightened to the base plate by using metric thread screws. The IC655CHS590 plug has no IP rating and it should be protected against water and other liquids.
