Technical Information

The IC655CHS508 base is a base unit for a GE Fanuc PLC system. It is designed with 8 slots. It has been manufactured by GE Fanuc as part of GE Series Five. This base unit can be mounted easily on a NEMA panel or another stable surface. The modules for the PLC are connected to this base unit within a 5.5-inch-deep cabinet. The base unit is 19 inches wide. It is designed with a power supply slot and a CPU slot and it connects to up to 8 I/O modules. The module addresses are assigned by using a Logic master device. The IC655CHS508 base unit has a thin form factor and it is lightweight. The slot I/O numbers on the base plate runs from 0 to 8. The slot numbers begin with a slot next to the CPU.

 

The IC655CHS508 base unit can be used with different modules in the I/O system such as discrete, analog, or option modules. The power requirements of the modules should match with the requirements of the base unit. During the installation process, some of the slots should be reserved for the intelligent modules in the PLC system. The base unit board is manufactured using high quality material. The IC655CHS508 base unit can be installed on a flat surface and tightened in place by using screws for a firm hold. The base unit supports different power supplies. It can work with 115/230 Volts AC with a current rating of 12 Amps, 115/230 Volts AC at 6 Amps, and 24 Volts DC with 6 Amps of current. All of the power supplies that are used need a backplane voltage of 5 Volts DC on the base unit.
