Technical Information

The IC655CCM590 converter is an RS-232/ RS-422 converter manufactured by GE Fanuc. This converter unit is used with the GE Series 5 PLC system. This power converter comes with a 1-Amp fuse that can be accessed from the front side. The fuse can be easily installed and replaced when needed. This industrial converter unit has a small form factor and it can be easily mounted by using the straps on the back of the unit. The IC655CCM590 converter has an LED indicator that indicates the flow of power in the converter. The converter can easily power an RS-422 multidrop network without using a converter box. The operating temperature range should be set between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius for normal operation. The humidity should be in the range of 0 to 95% with no condensation. The converter meets the NEMA ICS3-304 noise immunity standard and it has an impulse rating of 1000 Volts with a 1-millisecond pulse.

 

The IC655CCM590 power converter provides ground insulation between the different units of the PLC system. The converter is powered with a 5 Volts DC power source with a current rating of 1 Amp maximum. The power to the converter is supplied by using the rack power supply that is connected to the PLC system. The converter supports 8-bit asynchronous transmission. It supports both odd party data and null data during conversion. The IC655CCM590 converter supports different types of data formats, including the 1 start bit, 8 data bits, 1 parity bit, and 1 stop bit formats. It offers selectable data rates between 300 and 19200 bits per second. It follows the CCM2 and CCM3/ RTU protocol.
