The IC655CCM500 module is a communication control module manufactured by GE Fanuc. The communication module is powered with a 5 Volts DC power supply and a current rating of 600 milliamps. This communication module is used with the GE Series Five I/O modules. The Series Five PLC system comprises different components. The operating temperature for the PLC and its components should be maintained between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius. When not in use, the Series Five PLC can be stored at a temperature between -20 and 70 degrees Celsius. The IC655CCM500 module has an open enclosure and it should be used in a clean environment with no corrosive gases. The enclosure of the module comes with a NEMA ICS rating. It has an insulation resistance rating of 1500 Volts AC and a noise immunity rating of 1 millisecond with a 1-kilovolt pulse.
The IC655CCM500 module is used for IOT connectivity with a microcontroller. It is used for communication and networking applications. It links the PLC with a process controller with the RTU protocol. The master device can only initiate communication requests with the RTU. The module can be configured as a slave device for the RTU mode. The module comes with features that can help minimize the effects of transmission errors. It features parity checking and longitudinal redundancy checking. The IC655CCM500 module supports both asynchronous and synchronous transmission. The CCM module provides an interface to a handheld operator interface unit, dumb terminal, host device, and graphics system. It is capable of data transfers to and from the PLC memory, including the registers, tables, inputs, and user logic data. The module comes with a microcode that helps to increase the number of addressable I/O points.
