Technical Information

The IC655BEM510 module is a Genius bus controller module manufactured by GE Fanuc. It is used as part of the GE Series Five PLC system. This bus controller comes with enhanced diagnostics features. The bus controller is housed inside a NEMA enclosure. It has a power requirement of 500 milliamps. The front face of the controller has LED indicators that show the communication status of the bus controller. The LED blinks during the powerup diagnostics process. The front section also has a door opening that is used to access the 9-pin display connector and other connection points. The display connector is used to connect hand-held monitors and display terminals. The IC655BEM510 bus controller has a side removable door/component that can be removed to access the internal components of the bus controller. The bus controller is powered with a 5 Volts DC power supply from the backplane.

 

The IC655BEM510 bus controller can be connected to a Genius I/O system communication network. It can be used as a compatible block to communicate using discrete, analog, high-speed counters and PowerTRAC technology. It allows for global data sharing with more than 31 GE Series Five CPUs and other compatible products. It also supports low priority communication by using Genius datagrams. The IC655BEM510 bus controller is configured by using the Logic Master 5 unit. The bus controller consists of different components. It also determines which component needs to be used with another component. The controller is plugged within the I/O. It comes with 8 switches that can be configured as needed by the application. The isolation voltage is 1500 Volts between the devices on the bus.
