Technical Information

The IC655APU510 counter is a GE-manufactured high-speed counter. It is used with the GE Series Five PLC system. The I/O module is powered with 5 Volts DC from the power supply that is located on the base unit. This counter module has a maximum current rating of 100 milliamps. The modules are connected to the backplane by using a connector that is mounted on the base unit. The front section of the high-speed counter has LED indicators to show the status of I/O points. These 32-point counter modules are divided into groups of 4. A hinged door is present on the front side of IC655APU510 counter. When this door is opened, it provides access to the display monitor port. The side panel of the counter is also removable. It can be used to access other components. The D-type connectors on the front panel can be also used for connecting input devices. A toggle switch is present on the module that lets the operators choose the group of I/O inputs that can be monitored by the status indicators.

 

The front side of the GE Fanuc IC655APU510 Series Five high-speed counter module has a protective plastic cover. This cover protects the components of the module from dirt and dust and from EMC noise. Along with the main LED indicator, there are I/O module starting address display indicators that offer the dual function of reading the I/O address. The module can be configured by using the Logicmaster 5 technology. The IC655APU510 high-speed counter module should be protected from airborne contaminants and EMC noise. The environmental temperature should be set between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius for consistent operation.
