Technical Information

The IC670MDL930 relay output module is an isolated NO/NC discrete relay module made by GE Fanuc. It offers 8 isolated outputs, and 6 of them are normally open while 2 of them are normally closed. The power supply of the bus interface unit provides the required power to the module. The rated voltage of the IC670MDL930 relay output module is 5, 24, or 125 Volts DC and 120 or 240 Volts AC. The maximum resistive load current is 16 Amps per module. It consists of a fixed coil and moving armature type relays. Each output of the module has an RC snubber to suppress the high-frequency noise transients. The resistance rating of the snubber is 47.5 ohms. This output module does not have a fuse for protection.       

 

The IC670MDL930 relay output module draws 313 milliamps of maximum current from the power supply of the bus interface unit. If the number of points on the module increases, the power requirements of the device also increase, and the relationship between the power requirements and the number of points is linear. It has 20,000,000 operations of mechanical life and 100,000 operations of electrical life for the contacts. The typical contact life of the module varies with the load conditions. The noise suppression, which is achieved by the snubber at the output, contributes to the durability of the contacts and reduces the noise transients in the control wiring.  The IC670MDL930 relay output module has silver alloy contacts with 0.2 ohms of initial resistance at 1 Amp and 6 Volts DC. The response time of the outputs is 10 milliseconds.
