The IC670MDL742 output module is a DC negative output module made by GE Fanuc. It comes with 16 discrete outputs that act as current sinking outputs in a single group. These outputs sink current through the load while switching the load to the negative side of the DC supply. There is a 10-Amp fuse within the module to connect to an external power supply. The top face of the module has a transparent portion to display the indicator LEDs. The maximum user input voltage of the module is 4.75 to 5.25 Volts DC or 10.5 to 28.5 Volts DC. The IC670MDL742 output module draws 111 milliamps of maximum current from the bus interface unit’s power supply.
The IC670MDL742 output module has a 10 Amps and 250 Volts slow-acting fuse which is common to all the outputs for protection. Some of the features of the protection fuse include protecting outputs from the polarity reversal of the power supply and sending the blown fuse diagnostic message to the bus interface unit. The optional keying locations for this module are A, B, H, and K. An I/O terminal block with box type, barrier type, or board connector type terminals can be used for the field wiring of this module. The IC670MDL742 output module comes with output characteristics such as 2 Amps of maximum inrush current, 5 Volts or 10.5 to 28.5 Volts of onstage voltage, 1 Amp of minimum load current per point, 0.25 Volts of maximum output voltage drop, and 250 microamps of output leakage current at 28.5 Volts DC. It also consists of a serial to parallel converter for converting the data which comes from the BIU into a parallel format.
