The GE Fanuc and GE Intelligent Platforms-manufactured IC670MDD441 mixed discrete module is part of the GE Field Control product line. This mixed input and output module has 10 input points and 6 output points, for a total of 16 I/O points. It runs on a voltage rating of 24 Volts DC and all of its I/O circuits are discrete and share the same line. All 6 output points on the IC670MDD441 mixed discrete module come with both electric overcurrent and short circuit protection features. Additionally, these output points can sound alarms when there is a short circuit or whenever an electronic over-current fault occurs. This module is made so that it shuts down if any of the outputs experiences a fault, and this fault is reported to the Bus Interface Unit (BIU) in the system.
The GE Intelligent Platforms and GE Fanuc IC670MDD441 mixed discrete module is powered by the Bus Interface Unit system. However, the additional loads of the module are powered by an external DC power source. This module also has LED indicators, including the green LED indicator that indicates the on status of the IC670MDD441 module’s inputs. There are also bi-color LED indicators that show the on status of the output points. These indicators turn orange when there is a fault with any specific outputs. Additionally, this module has the “PWR” LED that shows the presence of field or backplane power on the module. This module has an on-state voltage of 15 to 30 Volts DC as well as an off-state voltage of 0 to 5 Volts DC.
