Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC670GBI001 interface is a Genius Bus interface that is manufactured as a member of the GE Field Control product series. This is a small, rugged, and intelligent interface module that has a stable aluminum enclosure. The device also comes with 4 LED indicators as well as the connector which connects the Genius hand-held monitor. The IC670GBI001 Genius Bus interface unit features a logic power supply that is required for the module to run the attached input/output modules. It is mounted on the terminal block to which all bus wirings, including the Genius Bus interface wirings, are connected. This unit comes with a non-volatile memory found inside the terminal block to help with the storage of configurations. The Genius Bus interface features a replaceable slow-blow fuse in the input power lines, and it is rated at 1 Amp and 250 Volts AC. This fuse can be removed and replaced without disassembling the wiring of any modules in the unit.

 

There are 4 LED indicators on the GE Fanuc IC670GBI001 Genius Bus Interface. They include the “PWR” LED that turns on to indicate that there is a power level of 5 Volts in the interface that is needed for logic operation. There is also the “OK” LED, which lights up to show that the module has successfully passed the powerup diagnostic tests. The other LED indicators are the “BUS B” LED that illuminates when the Genius BUI is installed on a redundant or dual bus, and the “RUN” LED that lights up only when the output modules are in the proper configuration on the IC670GBI001 Genius Bus interface and when they are wired through the controller of the bus controller.
