Technical Information

The GE Fanuc Field Control IC670FBI001 interface module is a FieldBus Interface (FBI) module manufactured by the GE Fanuc as part of the Field Control series. This device comes with new features as well as enhancements for old features, including support for the intelligent modules like the 8-channel analog current output modules, 8-channel thermocouple input modules, 4-channel RTD input modules, and 16-channel analog current input modules. The GE Fanuc IC670FBI001 FieldBus Interface module also features a new network fault recovery mode which offers a unique configurable mode. It enables the FBI module to consider the loss of at least 1 consumed COMV as a network fault, but this is applicable only when the IC670FBI001 FBI is in the “RUN UNLOCKED” mode. Also, this FBI comes with an enhanced hand-held programmer interface and it supports the addition of parameters in a configuration mode such as the FIP time slot, FIP transfer rate, configuration error, configuration version, and the board number.

 

Other features and improvements of the GE Fanuc IC670FBI001 FieldBus Interface module include the FIP FDM libraries upgrade. It has version 4.3 of the FIP FDM library that replaced the previous version 2.6. Additionally, this device provides global fault reporting whereby the global error is logged for the faults resulting from the FIP communication or configuration decoding. The hand-held programmer can only access this error code. The other notable feature of the IC670FBI001 FBI module is an enhanced configuration processing function that rejects the non-compliant configuration files. It also comes with a network fault detection feature.
