I/O Base, Box Style GE Fanuc Field Control CHS002 Rack PLC Field Cont. IC670 IC670CH IC670CHS
The IC670CHS002 I/O box-style terminal block is a product of GE Fanuc that is manufactured as part of the GE Field Control product family. These I/O terminal blocks with box terminals are generally generic terminal bases designed to provide backplane communication, terminal connections, and module mounting functions. The IC670CHS002 I/O terminal block allows for the installation of up to 2 modules which need to be screwed on the terminal block for effective vibration resistance. However, these modules can also be removed without meddling with the blocks’ field wiring. Each of the I/O modules have 3 groups of similar terminals. Group A consists of terminals that are internally connected while the Group B terminals are also connected, but it can be used for power connections. Group E consists of 5 similar terminals which are tied together internally and which are isolated from the power terminals as well as the point terminals. These terminals can be used as required for application wiring with terminals 1 to 16 used for wiring of the I/O.
Every GE Fanuc IC670CHS002 I/O box-style terminal block has a slot for projecting the alignment at every position of a module. The IC670CHS002 I/O terminal block is an I/O base that is used with the GE modules that have a catalog number with the suffix “J” or above, and those that have a projecting tab that fits into the alignment slot. A version 2.1+ Bus Interface Unit or BIU is essential for the hot removal or hot insertion of the modules in the I/O station. The IC670CHS102 I/O terminal block and the IC670CHS002B I/O terminal block or later versions feature a metal grounding strip below them and they can be used with a sturdy and conductive DIN rail as the mounting base.
