Technical Information

The IC670CHS001 I/O base is a barrier style terminal block. GE Fanuc manufactures this I/O terminal block as a member of the GE Field Control series. With barrier terminals, this I/O terminal block is a generic wiring base intended to offer features like terminations for operator connections, backplane communication, and a way to mount the modules. It supports up to 2 modules per I/O block, and these modules should be bolted firmly on the terminal block to boost vibration resistance. These modules can be detached and replaced without having to tamper with the field connections. The GE Fanuc IC670CHS001 I/O terminal block with barrier terminals features a total of 37 terminals arranged in 2 groups. The Group A and Group B terminals are usually used for connecting power to the terminal block while the remaining terminals work as individual terminals and are ideal for I/O wiring.

 

Every terminal on the IC670CHS001 I/O terminal block with a barrier terminal can accommodate a maximum of 2 wires with AWG #14 to AWG #22 gauge ratings. Copper wire with a temperature rating of 90 degrees Celsius is recommended for use and the recommended terminal torque is 8 pounds on an inch. For safety purposes, the ground wire needs to be AWG #14 wire and it should not exceed 4 inches or 10.16 centimeters in length. The IC670CHS001 I/O terminal block supports the hot removal and hot insertion of the modules, and this will not interfere with the BIU or the other modules in the I/O station. The hot removal and insertion processes should be carried out in environments that are not hazardous.
