Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC670ALG330 Genius Field Control analog current source output module is an 8-point analog output module that is made for the Genius Field Control station. The Field Control station offers the users a wide range of host architectures that are specially built to meet a variety of application needs. A typical Genius Field Control station comprises a Bus Interface Unit (BIU) and a group of 8 I/O modules all installed on a terminal block. The IC670ALG330 analog current source output module belongs to the Genus Field Control I/O family. This module supports 8 current-loop outputs on a common power supply, and it provides 8 output circuit channels with user-configurable scaling on each output point. The IC670ALG330 analog output module receives engineering units (digital data) output from the Bus Interface Unit (BIU) and then scales this data to meet its configured output current scaling parameter range (0 to 20.48 milliamps). 

 

The standard diagnostic features for the IC670ALG330 analog current source output module include open-wire detection, and an over/under-range alarm which only trips when the engineering unit value sent by the BIU results in an output value that exceeds the module’s default scaling parameters. Other standard module features include the “channel active/inactive” capability which means each output channel can be configured as active or inactive, and it comes with 3 pre-defined scaling sections and one user-defined scaling setting. The IC670ALG330 analog current source output module requires an external power supply (18 to 30 Volts DC) for operation and it draws 85 milliamps of maximum current from the backplane. The IC670ALG330 analog current source output module is configured by using a hand-held programmer, and it is installed on an I/O terminal block which provides simplified field wiring and allows for the replacement of the module without reconfiguring the terminal wiring.
