Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC670ALG240 analog current output module is a 16-point grouped analog input module for the Genius Field Control system. The IC670ALG240 analog current output module comes with 16 single-ended current loop inputs that accept input signals from 2-wire and 3-wire current transmitters and then convert the signals to digital values for the host processor. Each IC670ALG240 analog current output module’s input provides 0 to 25 milliamps of filtered signal, scaling the signal according to the set scaling parameters and then converting it to engineering units for the host processor. During operation, the IC670ALG240 analog input module checks every scaled signal against the software-configured alarm and user-defined under-range/over-range values, and if any of the error conditions occur on a channel, the module triggers a corresponding diagnostic command that can be easily accessed and monitored by the host processor. Standard alarm reporting includes high/low alarm, under/over-range, and open wire conditions.

 

The IC670ALG240 analog current output module does not require an additional power supply for operation, however, a 20 to 28 Volts DC external power supply must be provided for current loops. The IC670ALG240 analog current output module features 3 unique filtering types (an input filter, a line filter, and an averaging filter) for reducing electrical noise disturbance. It also offers 3 pre-defined scale selections and a user-configured custom scaling feature. The IC670ALG240 analog current output module can be configured via the Bus Interface Unit (BIU) using a hand-held programmer, and the configured parameters can also be read and written directly from the Bus when used in applications that support such configurations. It is installed on the terminal block, which provides a wiring base, and like all Genius Field Control I/O modules, it can be replaced from the terminal block without reconfiguring terminal wiring.
