The GE Fanuc IC670ALG230 analog current source input module is an 8-point analog current input module from the Genius Field Control I/O module series. The GE Fanuc Genius Field Control system offers a cost-effective I/O control solution that covers a wide range of control architecture. A typical Genius Field Control station consists of a Bus interface module which provides intelligent processing, I/O scanning, and configuration, and a group of I/O module, and a terminal block which provide a base for all the field-side wiring. The IC670ALG230 analog current source input module, like every Genius Field Control I/O module, can be configured from the Bus Interface Unit or BIU by using a compatible handheld monitor, or the configuration parameters can be written or read via the bus in applications that support bus-level configuration.
The IC670ALG230 analog current source input module has 8 current-source type inputs that are grouped, and each input channel is capable of accepting a default 0 to 20 milliamps of current-level input signals. The current-level signal received by the IC670ALG230 analog current source input module is converted to 12-bit unscaled analog input data that is sent to the BIU, which performs scaling on the data and then sends the scaled data to a host device. The IC670ALG230 analog current source input module can utilize the 24 Volts DC backplane power for current loops, but if point-to-point isolation is required, a separate power supply must be used. The IC670ALG230 analog current source input module is installed on a terminal block unit, which supports I/O module replacement without reconfiguring the field-wiring. It comes with a sturdy and compact aluminium housing, which provides a protective environmental enclosure. The IC670ALG230 analog current source input module has a front-panel LED indicator that shows the module’s diagnostic and operational statuses.
