The GE Fanuc EPXPBS001 module is a Profibus adapter module. An integrated USB port on the module can be used for configuration. The EPXPBS001 module mounts on a DIN Rail.
The GE Fanuc EPXPBS001 adapter module is a Profibus network adapter module. It is designed for use as the head module for the RSTi-EP communication bus system. The power supply for the station is integrated into the EPXPBS001 adapter module. The power is supplied through 2 separate 4-pole power connectors. The power supply includes 2 separate paths for the input current and for the output current. The EPXPBS001 adapter module can be accessed and configured from an on-board USB port which is provided for just this purpose. A system-independent web server application can be used to configure the EPXPBS001 adapter module. The application allows for the reading of status values and parameters and the forcing or simulation of all connected modules. The EPXPBS001 adapter module must be allowed to de-energize for a minimum of 10 minutes after power disconnection before any maintenance work is initiated.
The GE Fanuc EPXPBS001 network adapter module is usually mounted on a horizontally positioned DIN Rail. The adapter can also be mounted on a vertically positioned DIN Rail but doing so leads to reduced heat dissipation. The network connection is made through a 9-pole SUB-D socket. The adapter fieldbus protocol is the Profibus-DP V1 protocol. The maximum width for the input data, output data, parameter data, and the diagnostic data is 244 bytes. The maximum fieldbus transfer rate is 12 Mbps. The supply voltage range for the system and the digital inputs is 20.4 to 28.8 Volts. The mechanical specifications for the EPXPBS001 adapter module include 223 grams of weight and dimensions at 120 x 76 x 52 millimeters. The GSD configuration file for the EPXPBS001 adapter module is available on the product support website for download and import into the Proficy Machine Edition software.
